A Journey Toward the King

As we gather with family, reflect on the year behind us, and look forward with hope, we want to welcome you to this year’s Christmas message. At Monotelo Advisors, it is a joy and a privilege to walk alongside you—through every season and every milestone. 

This Christmas, we invite you to pause with us and revisit one of the most awe‑inspiring moments in history. The night a star lit the sky and hope entered the world:

The Star That Changed Everything

I still remember the night the heavens spoke. 

We had studied the skies for decades, tracing patterns, reading signs. But this star—this blazing jewel—was unlike anything we had ever seen. It burned with a brilliance that defied reason, steady and sure, as if the universe itself was pointing the way. My heart raced! Could this be the prophecy fulfilled? The King of kings… born at last? 

We left everything behind—our homes, our comforts, our certainty—and followed the light. Days turned into weeks. The desert winds lashed against our faces, and the sun scorched our backs, yet the star never wavered. Each mile deepened the question that haunted me: Who is this Child that the cosmos proclaims? 

When we reached Jerusalem, I expected celebration. Instead, whispers filled the air, and Herod’s eyes pierced like daggers. He spoke of worship, but his tone dripped with fear. Still, the star led us onward, past the palace, past the noise, into the quiet hills of Bethlehem. 

And then we saw Him! In a stable.  

How could a King be born in a stable?  

A single oil lamp flickered, casting shadows that danced across the straw-covered floor. The scent of earth and hay mingled with the faint sweetness of frankincense from our satchels. And there—cradled in His mother’s arms—was the Child. 

I froze. My breath caught in my throat. This was no ordinary infant. His eyes seemed to hold eternity. The room was silent, yet I felt the weight of glory pressing in, as if the air itself trembled with unseen angels! Majesty wrapped in vulnerability! The Infinite clothed in flesh. 

I fell to my knees. Tears blurred my vision as I laid my gift before Him—gold for His kingship, frankincense for His divinity, myrrh for the sacrifice He would one day make. My hands shook. What were these treasures compared to the wonder before me? The Savior of the world…

Wonderful Counselor… Mighty God….. Prince of Peace… God with us! Here, in this quiet place.

How could this be? 

As we departed, warned in a dream to avoid Herod, the star faded from the sky. But its light burned within me still. I had seen the Promise. I had touched eternity. The Deliverer who came to deliverer us from eternal separation from God. The Mediator who became the bridge between God and humanity. The Healer who restores physical and spiritual brokenness. The Shepherd who guides and protects His people. The Hope of Glory - our eternal promise and future. The

Light in the Darkness who brings clarity, truth, and life to a fallen world. 

And though the world slept, history would be forever changed on that silent night. 

As you celebrate this Christmas season, may the same hope that guided the wise men guide your heart and home today. We are grateful for your trust, your partnership, and the privilege of serving you.
